Why should the panda get all the praise? The Ugly Animal Roadshow is all about raising the profile of the world’s most aesthetically challenged endangered species. This is a family-friendly performance that celebrates and explores the incredible biology of the animal kingdom’s most monstrous species. The show features videos, demonstrations and lots of audience participation.

Simon Watt is a writer, science communicator and TV presenter. He also runs the Ugly Animal Preservation Society, a comedy night with a conservation twist. In 2013 he joined forces with the National Science and Engineering Competition to create a campaign to hold an international poll to find the world’s ugliest endangered creature. The blobfish was crowned the winner and their work started appearing in the media the world over. It was featured on Newsnight, Mock the Week, The Infinite Monkey Cage, The World At One and in tens of thousands of articles in newspapers. It also spawned a book, available now on Amazon.
