Brighton Science Festival

Textile Science

Friday 21 February 2020

1.30pm - 3.30pm

This is a playful hands on discovery workshop exploring textile material properties with the assistance of fire, water and our senses. We will compare natural fibres in their original states with yarns and fabrics, learn what properties each have and how to determine what a piece of clothing is made of. If you ever wondered: Why synthetics are used for sports clothes or why viscose pulls out of shape in the wash, come learn the answers with us and entertain your inner pyro in the process.

This workshop is for adults and young people 12 years and over with spaces for up to 15 participants.

£15 per person
