Code Playground is an online platform designed to help you and your kids get to grips with the basics of coding. Coding is the language we use to talk to computers and tell them what to do. It drives the software in every device, phone and camera – but you’ll find it in everyday household appliances too.

Coding is also part of the national curriculum, and learning what makes tech tick could give your kids a head start in the world of work. Give them a helping hand by bringing them along to a coding session with the Digital Eagles – experts who’ll guide your children as they take on fun challenges that introduce them to the basics of coding.

This event is free, but parents must register their child prior to a Code Playground event. This is to ensure they come prepared with the Scratch programme pre-downloaded onto a laptop (instructions are explained when browsing the website and again sent out at point of registration).

The Digital Eagles were born in April 2014 as part of Barclays Bank’s ambition to help colleagues, customers, clients and local communities across the UK to grow their knowledge and confidence with digital and online devices and to ensure they remain safe when doing so. They now have 18,000 Digital Eagles and have supported millions of people with digital skills … and they’re showing no signs of slowing down!
