Join us for a rather different Valentine’s Day as anatomists from Brighton and Sussex Medical School explore the scientific wonders of the heart. They will take you on a guided tour of this remarkable organ while dissecting a real one live.

You will see how blood enters the heart, where the real heartstrings are and understand how it beats. At the end you can even get your gloves on and get involved! The dissection will be followed by a Q&A. The session will be run by Dr Claire Smith and Ms Catherine Hennessy.

Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is a partnership between the Universities of Brighton and Sussex and the local NHS health community. Their curriculum emphasises early clinical involvement, a broad range of experience and a firm foundation in basic science. At BSMS, the focus is on the continuous improvement of medical treatment to deliver more personalised healthcare for patients, by applying basic science to answer fundamental clinical questions.
