On Hubble’s 20th birthday, the rainbow has been thoroughly unwoven. Looking at the cosmos through every wavelength, from gamma rays to micro-waves, reveals a universe in constant, exuberant turmoil.
In an evening of stunning images, explained by experts from Sussex university, we study at one extremity gamma-ray bursts - the biggest bangs since the Big Bang - and at the other the almost invisible echo of the universe’s creation - the cosmic background radiation.
